Visualizing Disease Burden

Visualizing Disease Burden

Client Challenge

Medical science liaisons (MSLs) were struggling to connect with healthcare professionals (HCPs) using their current burden of disease deck. The slides were long, flat, and heavy on data without context. The client knew the science was compelling but needed a better way to bring it to life.

What We Did

We didn’t just reformat the deck. We rethought its entire purpose. Instead of treating it as a monologue, we shaped it as a visual conversation. One that allowed MSLs to pivot, pause, or go deeper based on the moment.

Our solution featured:

A modular design so content could flex based on HCP specialty or familiarity
Streamlined slides with layered storytelling, not walls of bullet points
Strong visual metaphors to make complex mechanisms easier to follow
Co-created content with MSL feedback to ensure usability in the field

The Impact

Usage jumped fourfold in the first quarter after launch
MSLs reported more confident and productive engagements
Client expanded the project to cover additional disease states and geographies

Why It Matters

In medical communications, how we tell the story is just as important as the data we share. This case proved that when tools reflect real conversations, they become trusted sources of insight and understanding.
